Albanian private bank CEO shot dead outside office

Police say the head and co-founder of one of Albania's biggest private banks has been shot dead in the capital, Tirana, AP reported.

Banka Credins CEO Artan Santo was gunned down when entering his downtown office, according to police spokeswoman Alma Katragjini.

Witnesses told The Associated Press that two men on a motorbike first chatted with Santo in front of the entrance before shooting six times, once to his head.

Police on Thursday said it was too early to determine a motive.

Santo, who was 58, has been CEO and director general of the 11-year-old Banka Credins. It is one of 16 banks in Albania.
