Scientific- research vessel owned by Iran on fire in Baku Bay

The fire which has broken out at 11.30 today at the scientific-research vessel Pijvak owned by Iran is still going on in the Bay of Baku in the vicinity of the Bibieybat settlement, the press service head of the Chief Department of Fire Safety under the Azerbaijan Interior Ministry Agaali Ismaylov told Trend.

The ship has been moored some time ago to the Shipyard for repair to be performed by the Turan Joint Stock Company (JSC).

В"At 11.34 employees of the Chief Department of Fire Safety, Sabayil division department, came to the place of the incident. Repair works were underway inside the vessel at the moment of the fire occurrence. All workers engaged in repair have been pulled out of the ship. The vessel has been taken 200 meters away from the shore for the fire not to spread to other objects. The Minister of Emergencies Kamaletddin Heydarov and the executives of the Chief Department of Fire Safety arrived to the site, Ismaylov said.

There are yet no versions in regard to the causes of the fire. This incident and the amount of damage will be identified during further investigations.
