Elchin Sultanov, Deputy Public Prosecutor of Sabayil District of Baku City said that a lawsuit was filed on the case of explosion in Paris Commune Plant of the Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company on 18 December 2006, Trend reports.
The lawsuit was filed in accordance with Article 162.2 (violation of safety rules leading to heavy results) of the criminal Code of Azerbaijan Republic.
No one has been made answerable yet, while the examination is underway, Mr. Sultanov said. The guilty will be punished from 3 to 5 years in imprisonment. The condition of the injured is medium-grave.
On 18 December at 14:27, welding work carried out in the engine room of Shamkhor vessel, which underwent repair work at the Paris Commune Plant caused an explosion.. The fire was lit at 14:53 the same day.
In result of the explosion, died Jalil Gurbanly who was 38. Kamil Alasgarov, 64 years old, Elchin Musayev, 38 years old, and Zahid Mammadaliyev, 34 years old got injured.
