Azerbaijan, Baku / Т corr K. Zarbaliyeva / A car belonging to the Sumgayit City Police Office was fired at by unknown assailants at 10:40 p.m. on 28 March.
The Interior Ministry reported that a "Tofas" service vehicle driven by the Sumgayit City Police officer, Sergeant Galib Tanriverdiyev, was fired at in the 41A area of the city. The officer was slightly hurt from shattered glass.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted at the Police Office under Articles 29 and 120 of the Criminal Code (attempt to commit a calculated homicide). It is presumed that the incident involved two persons and investigations are underway.
