Accident at the Baku-Russian Border Highway Ends in Death

Azerbaijan, Guba / Тrend corr A. Gafarov / A traffic accident took place on the 174th kilometre of the highway linking Baku with the Russian border on the 6th of June at 07:00 a.m. Baku time. The accident resulted in a fatal outcome.

A ' Cetra ' bus with the number plate 10-RT-586 was driven by Baku resident Farhad Mustafayev who was travelling from Makhachkala , Russian Federation to Baku and hit into a VAZ 2107 vehicle with number plate 27-BQ-337 travelling from Hajialibey village in the Azerbaijani Khachmaz region, Eldaniz Mustafayev , 33. As a result, the driver of the VAZ 2107 died at the scene of the accident.

The part of the road where the accident had happened was closed for half an hour. After completion of preventive measures, the traffic was restored.

According to the investigator of the Guba Region Police Department, Elkhan Afandiyev , the main reason for the accident was high speed from the VAZ 2107.A criminal case was filed at the Guba Region Police Department.

Guba is situated 170 north of Baku.
