Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend K.Zarbaliyeva / A soldier dies and eight others were injured during the crash of military truck in Azerbaijan's district of Beylagan, a source stated in the Republic Prosecutor's Office on 15 August. The truck turned over on 14 August after collecting wood from the forestry area of Osakyucha village of Lenkaran district.
As a result, 19-year old Shahbazov Mirzali, who had been called for service by the Military Registration Department of Sabirabad district, died and eight other soldiers were taken to the Military Hospital of Lankaran with various injuries. Two of them are reported at medium-critical condition.
According to the initial report, the incident resulted from the driver violating the security rules. The Press Secretary of Republic Prosecutor's Office, Afrahim Tahmazov, said that the Lankaran Military Prosecutor's Office has filed charges and an investigation is being held.
This is not the first incident that has occurred this year. Military trucks have also turned over in Gadabek and Ganja cities and one other soldier has died.
