Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend E.Huseynli / Residents of houses near the recently collapsed building in Baku have been allowed to enter their homes to collect necessary belongings, Tural Museyibov, a spokesman for the Azerbaijani Ministry of Emergency Situations said on 3 September at the scene of the incident.
A building which was under construction by the company Mutaffakir collapsed on 28 August at 5pm. Initial accounts reveal that gross violation of construction regulations caused the collapse of the building. Latest reports are that 15 people died as a result of the incident.
Some defects were discovered in the buildings constructed by Mutafakkir, after the incident the residents were evacuated.
Around 30 residents of houses near the recently collapsed building in Baku staged a protest action.
Museyibov said in talks with journalists that the executive Power of Yasamal District is compiling a list of residents of these buildings and the evacuated residents will be allowed to remove their belongings in the presence of employees of the police or prosecutor bodies.
In the case of the new building being unfit for residence the issue of its destruction or restoration will be discussed.
