Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr.S.Agayeva / The British Energy Minister, Malcolm Wicks, intends to discuss rendering assistance from the EU and Great Britain to simplify transportation of energy resources from Azerbaijan to Europe. Negotiations will be held on 21 September during a one day visit by the Minister to Baku, the British Embassy in Azerbaijan reported.
The Minister is planning to meet with the Azerbaijani President, Foreign Minister, Industry and Energy Minister, Minister of Economic Development and the head of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR).
"Oil and gas companies of Britain play an important role in the development of the economy in Azerbaijan. Such important infrastructure as a transit communication unit and South Caucasus pipeline serve world energy security of Europe," the Minister reported.
The British Minister will visit Azerbaijan after Turkey and Turkmenistan.
