Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend S.Agayeva / A Senator from the State of California, Shelia Kuehl, who is heading a delegation of Senators on a visit to Azerbaijan, briefed the media on 26 September that women of Azerbaijan and the USA may actively cooperate in settling global problems.
The Senator considers it necessary to develop cooperation between Azerbaijani and Californian women with regards to education, health and the social-political life of the two countries.
"The potential of Azerbaijani women is vast and woman leaders currently actively function in the political and economic life of the country," said the US Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Anne E. Derse.
According to her, the visit of the US Senators is aimed at studying ways for cooperation. On 26 September the Senators from California met with women leaders of Azerbaijan during a dinner organized by the US Embassy in Azerbaijan. In addition, today they were received by the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.
