Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend E.Huseynli / Azerbaijani opposition party Musavat will participate in the presidential elections with the unified candidate, Rauf Arifoglu, a member of the party, said on September 28.
According to Arifoglu, if party joined the presidential elections with a unified candidate, party can hold a confident and effective campaign.
"Musavat party should support Isa Gambar [the party leader] at the presidential election," he said.
Meanwhile, Panah Huseyn, a member of parliamentary group, said that several candidates from the party should participate in elections. However, Arif Hajili the head of the executive board of the Musavat party disagreed.
According Arifoglu, such discussions in the party intensifies public-political activity. The party's action plan needs to be reformed.
Opposition party Musavat was established in 1992.
Isa Gambar, the head of party was the speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament in 1992 to 1993. He was a candidate of the presidential election in 2003. Party has 5 representatives in the Parliament.
