Non-Admission of Women in Hijab to Society Cause Differences in Azerbaijani Parliament

Hijab-banned educational and business units in Azerbaijan, raised different arguments in Milli Majlis, the Azerbaijani Parliament.

Students wearing hijab were not allowed in to the classes the Institute of pedagogical studies.

According to MP Fazil Gazanfaroglu, the chairman of the Great Establishment Party, electorates of the party complained about not taking the veiled women to work.

"Nobody can offend the religious believes of people," MP said.

While religious studies are banned on the Azerbaijani TV channels, Panah Huseyn, an MP from the Musavat opposition Party said: religious studies are prohibited on TV, which is unacceptable as we are in the middle of Ramadhan which is a religiously respected month.

Gudrat Hasanguliyev, the chairman of the opposition Popular Front of Unified Party of Azerbaijan said: Azerbaijan is a secular country and we should support such actions by the medical centre which bans women to work while wearing hijab.

Hijab is a religious recommendation .
