Ankara Supports Peaceful Settlement of On-Going Conflicts in South Caucasus – Turkish President

France, Strasburg / Тrend corr A. Maharramli / Turkey supports the peaceful settlement of the on-going conflicts in the South Caucasus within the framework of the territorial integrity of the countries. "We support the peaceful settlement of the conflicts. And when saying peaceful settlement we mean settlement of the conflicts within the framework of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan and Georgia," Turkish President Abdullah Gul said at the session of EU Parliamentary Assembly on 3 October.

"The South Caucasus is another critical region burdened with persisting unresolved conflicts. Its frozen conflicts continue to represent a serious threat to the peace and stability in the region. These conflicts provide a major impediment to region-wide cooperation initiatives," Gul said. It is first time he is visiting Strasburg as President.
