Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend S.Agayeva / Mehriban Aliyeva, the First lady of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, attended the opening of the international festival BiblioObraz 2007, to be held until 11 October.
The Azerbaijani embassy in Russia announced by telephone that Azerbaijan was represented by a special stand at the festival, organized at the initiative of Russia's First Lady Lyudmila Putina. The Azerbaijani First Lady visited the stand to get familiar with the exponents.
There are plans to hold a range of events at the festival, including a Musical journey though Azerbaijan, an artistic presentation of books and school multimedia, familiarity with traditional musical instruments and national costume of Azerbaijan in a presentation by Russian artist Gagarin.
The next topic is the event Fantastic Firework. Master classes will be held on the crafting of dolls for puppet theaters of schools and frescos. There are also plans to hold a presentation of a film 'Friend', which deals with the friendship between a boy and a foal, as well as a meeting with the film director Lala Akhundova. The Pantomime Theater will demonstrate some scenes from 'Melikmammad', an interactive show with the participation of Alexander Sharovskiy, the head director of the Azerbaijan State Russian Theater.
There are also plans to hold a meeting with the famous Azerbaijani writer Chingiz Abdullayev and master class artist Nusret Hajiyev, an author of illustrations for children's books on morals of the Azerbaijani tale 'Melikmamed'.
Attending the festival were spouses of the presidents of CIS member-countries.
