Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. S.Ilhamgizi / Azerbaijan's opposition parties continue discussions on developing a set of proposals concerning changes to the Election Code of Azerbaijan, the Classic Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (CPFPA), reported.
The roundtable to be held in Baku in November will include the participation of Azerbaijani government representatives, the Council of Europe's Venice Commission, and political parties of the country to improve the Election Code.
Azerbaijani opposition parties have put different proposals forward to change the Election Code of the country. A joint Task Group was established from fifteen opposition parties to develop one general set of proposals.
Representatives of the Way of Azerbaijan, CPFPA, the Great Establishment Party, Azadlig, the National Democratic Party, and others participated in the Task Group meeting on 17 October. The sides discussed general proposals but a concrete document has not yet been developed. The next meeting is scheduled for 18 October.
