Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr K. Ramazanova / Recently appointed NATO Coordinator for South Caucasus, Zbigniew Rybacki, will arrive in Baku on 19 October, a source at NATO's Brussels office reported by phone on 18 October.
Official meetings are not expected to take place during the Coordinator's first visit to Azerbaijan, which will be of a working character.
Azerbaijan and NATO are cooperating within the framework of the Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP) envisaging cooperation development program for 2008-2009.
At this stage cooperation between Azerbaijan and NATO has not the aim of making Azerbaijan a NATO member, Robert Simmons, NATO Secretary General's Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia, said during his visit to the region last month.
"The issue on Azerbaijan's joining NATO is not being discussed. Probably, it may be put for discussion at later cooperation stages," he said.
