Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. S.Ilhamgizi / Azerbaijani Central Election Commission's chairman's salary exceeds the salary of ministers, Mazahir Panahov, the head of the Central Election Commission (CEC), said.
According to Panahov, CEC's leadership is the highest paid officials of Azerbaijan. Earlier CEC's chairman's salary was equal to the salary of the Vice Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament. CEC's chairman's salary was increased by the decree of the Azerbaijani President. "Presently, my salary exceeds the salary of ministers," Panahov said.
Currently the chairman of the Parliament draws AZN 1,930 salary, Vice Speaker -AZN 1,544. It means CEC's chairman's salary exceeds AZN 1,544.
CEC's chairman's salary is equal to the salary of Azerbaijani MPs. MPS of the Azerbaijani Parliament draw salary in amount of AZN 1,365 and 20% compensation.
Salaries of officials of election commissions would be increased by the upcoming presidential election in Azerbaijan.
The material-technical bases of election commissions would be improved. A new building is being constructed for election commissions of Azerbaijan.
