Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr K. Zarbaliyeva / Azerbaijan and Pakistan will sign an intergovernmental agreement on extradition. The agreement is being coordinated, but the date of signing has not been set yet, the head of Azerbaijani Justice Ministry's International Legal Cooperation Department, Zavar Gafarov, said on 22 October.
According to Gafarov, Azerbaijani citizens are imprisoned in Pakistan, as well as Pakistani citizens serve their sentences in Azerbaijan, due to lack of an agreement on extradition. Up to now the prisoners have been extradited to their countries on the basis of international conventions.
In near future Azerbaijan and Algeria will sign an intergovernmental agreement covering all spheres of legal aid. The Justice Ministries of the two counties will sign an agreement on cooperation, probably next year, Gafarov said.
