Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend S.Ilhamgizi / The existence of Azadlyg bloc is of serious concern for the rivals in the opposition and therefore, false information spread about the bloc, said the Co-chair of Azadlyg bloc, Chairman of Citizen and Development Party (CDP), Ali Aliyev, on 22 October.
The Yeni Musavat newspaper published by opposition Musavat Party writes that Azadlyg bloc can not select a single candidate for the 2008 Presidential elections. The selection between Ali Kerimli and Lale Shoykat will be difficult, the newspaper writes.
Aliyev considers that the bloc is a serious 'head ache' for the opponents both in opposition and in power. Therefore, the society is periodically informed of the confrontation within the bloc.
"It is clear that Azadlyg bloc, its ideology is a serious problem for the opposition rivals. The results of 2005 parliamentary elections showed that the people support political forces holding principal fighting," Aliyev said.
According to him, until 2005 parliamentary elections, Musavat and Azerbaijan Democratic Party represented in the bloc lost public support due to differences in the political fighting.
The political forces outside the bloc should think of their successes, Aliyev said. According to him, if a favorable election atmosphere is established in Azerbaijan and Azadlyg bloc decides to participateb in the 2008 Presidential elections, there will be no problems in selecting a single candidate.
Two parties and one political movement enter the Azadlyg bloc. These are the Popular Front of Azerbaijan Party (PFAP), the Citizens and Development Party (CDP) and the Movement of National Unity (MNU).
