Elections to Russia’s State Duma to be Held according to Schedule: Head of Russian CEC

Russia, Moscow /corr. Trend R.Agayev / The preparations for the elections to the State Duma of Russia due on 2 December are going on in accordance with the schedule. "No actions, no election commissions, no parties deviated from the periods specified by the law," the Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Russia, Vladimir Churov, said in hid interview with Trend.

He said that all 14 parties participating in the elections submitted documents for registration. "Five federal lists of candidates have been received from the parties until 18 October. The remaining parties still have time. We are actively working with the lists," Churov said.

In addition, Churov stressed that the identities empowering the electors to vote in any polling stations have been fully published and provided to the territorial-election commissions.

The Head of the Election Commission said that for the first time, the range of presence of the electors has been cancelled in these elections. "The activity at the federal level has always been high. The range of presence does not play any role there. In the local elections, the range of presence often played a negative role," Churov said.

The new recommendations of the OSCE will be that the earls 'against all' candidates will not be in existence during the voting. "Canceling the earls 'against all' candidates will expand possibilities of democratic will. If you do not want your vote to be given to any party, you have a possibility to do it," Churov concluded.
