The session was held on 1 November.

Mollazadeh proposed to involve professional people to diplomatic service and increase their salary.

The government should allocate certain budget to purchase property abroad. "Purchasing of property abroad may increase the government's incomes as the price of property rises quicker than inflation," the MP said.

Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry and Culture and Tourism Ministry should open Centre of Azerbaijani Culture in Paris. Such a centre may to be a positive step in popularization of the Azerbaijani culture in the world.

Absence of the Azerbaijani embassy in Israel weakens the country's position in the world information war against Armenian lobby.

The number of people keen to work in the diplomatic service decrease due to low salaries, Vagif Sadigov, the deputy Foreign Minister, said.

Some 700 applicants submitted their documents for vacancies in the Foreign Ministry in 2006, as compared to 360 applicants in 2007.

Most people prefer to work for foreign companies with high salary.

Some AZN 3.3mln was allocated from the State budget for financing of the Foreign Ministry. The Ministry proposed to increase the budget to AZN 8.5mln. However, the State budget is planning to allocate AZN 5.2mln in 2008.
