Self-Delusion to Expect Decision Satisfying Everybody:   Azerbaijan CEC Chairman

Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend S.Ilhamgizi / The Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Azerbaijan (CEC), Mazahir Panahov, briefed the media on 5 November that it is impossible to make a decision which is available for everybody.

The Venice Commission of the Council of the Council of Europe and IFES will organize meetings in Baku with regards to reforms in the electoral legislation on 7-8 and 9 November in Baku. The meetings will also be attended by the political parties.

According to the CEC Chairman, these meetings are the continuation of the talks with the Venice Commission. The meetings will focus on the consideration of the appeals to the election commissions and re-formation of the election commissions.

All political parties have been invited to the discussions and the sides will make their proposals.

"The discussions are aimed at accepting most rational proposals used large public support. However, it is self-delusion to expect satisfying all decisions," he said.

The CEC Chairman expressed attention towards the statement of Azerbaijan Popular Front Party, Democratic Party, Liberal Party and Musavat Party refusing to participate in the discussions. "It is their work," Panahov said.
