Georgian Police Disperses Oppositional Rally in front of Parliament

Georgia, Tbilisi / corr Trend N.Kirtzkhalia / The Georgia patrol police dispersed the protestors from the Unified Opposition rallying in front of the Parliament this morning [7 November]. One of the organizers of the rally, ex-state minister of Georgiy Khaindrava was detained.

The Georgian television channels do not any film demonstrating the dispersal of the rally, because the police either withdrew the cameras, or broke them. The protestors said that first the city cleaning service came to the place and then they were replaced by the patrol police. They dispersed the people gathered in front of the Parliament.

According to unofficial data, the authorities decided to disperse the protestors following their decision of installing 10 tents in front of the Parliament. They were willing to 'take the power by starvation'.
