Germany, Berlin / Тrend corr A. Maharramli / Georgia's official position on settlement of conflicts has not changed, Georgian State Minister on Settlement of Conflicts David Bakradze said to Trend.

"We respect the right of every nation for political rights and self-determination, but that should not threaten territorial integrity. We support the peaceful settlement of conflicts, respect for interests of local population and its rights. Territorial integrity will never be questionable for us," Bakradze said.

Bakradze considers very useful the discussions over frozen conflicts which were organized by the Monitoring Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) in Berlin on 5 to 6 November. He believes a soon settlement of the conflicts may be expected after such discussions. "At least, open discussion of the issue is very useful, for such discussions may become a very important political component in settlement of the conflicts. Through such arrangements and conferences we can create a political opinion in Europe, which is very important for complete settlement. In this respect the conference is positive."
