EU Temporary Shuts Down its Office in Georgia

The European Union (EU) temporary suspended the activities of its Georgian office, the official representative of the European Commission Christiana Homan said on 8 November.

"The EU decided to temporary shut down its office in Georgia to provide security to its stuff," she stressed.

The European Commission is seriously concerned about the situation in the country and is attentively following the events. EU calls on all sides to avoid violence and to act following democratic principles which envisage freedom of press and freedom of expression, ITAR-TASS reported.
