Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend D.Khatinoglu / Up to now, none of the proposals made to official Tehran regarding termination of its plans on uranium enrichment has been accepted. " Iran depreciatingly approaches all these proposals because the future of the Iranian government is linked with the beginning of war with the USA," said the Chairman of the Association of Iranian Researchers, Iranian politician, Hossein Lajavardi. "The nuclear plans of Iran caused serious concerns of the international community. The countries of Persian Gulf suggested Iran to establish a consortium on sale of the enriched uranium. Russia offered Iran to establish a station on the uranium enrichment and the European Union's Commissioner, Javier Solana, to establish an international center on uranium enrichment. Despite that the Iranian senior officials said that they will consider the proposals, the conditions of official Tehran ignore them," the politician said.
In reality the nuclear program is necessary for the Iranian government to hold the power, Lajavardi said in his interview with Trend by telephone from Paris on 12 November. "The Iranian government lost the support of people and needs foreign enemy in order to remove dissatisfied people. Under the pretext of the beginning of the war with the USA, the Iranian government will liquidate all internal opposition forces. Since the 1977 revolution, the oil revenues of Official Tehran have exceeded $1trln, but the country's population lives under poverty and the government has fully lost its trust," the politician said.
According to Lajavardi, if the new sanctions of the UN Security Council are applied with regards to Iran, the USA will find enough reasons to attack Iran. "According to certain information, the USA took to aim more than 10000 strategic facilities of Iran. Iran, more than the USA, wants to begin the war because the dissatisfaction in the country is growing each day. Liquidating opposition forces means inevitability of the way," he said.
According to the politician, the USA will not aim at the nuclear stations of Iran. The USA will not repeat the tragedy in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. This will avoid Iranian government's concerns of atomic stations. Thus, official Tehran positively approaches the war, he said.
The President of Iran brings the country to war, Isa Sakharsiz, reported to Trend by telephone from Tehran on 12 November. "The government tries to defend itself, but not the people. The resolutions and war will adversely affect not the government, but people," he said.
