Huseynli / A training centre named after Heydar Aliyev was opened in Caucasus University in theTurkish city of Kars, the Azerbaijani Consul General in Kars, Hasan Zeynalov reported to Trend. Thus, the students at the faculty of Azerbaijani literature will have the opportunity to gain more information about Azerbaijan.
"Authoritative scientists from different Baku and Nakhchvan educational institutions will deliver lectures to the students at the University studying in the faculty of Azerbaijani Studies," the Consul said.
The opening ceremony was attended by officials and representatives of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, which initiated and assisted in construction of the training centre. The repair work was carried out by HNB Insaat-ixracat, Senaye-Ticaret LTD group of companies.
During his visit in 2002 to Kars, the then President of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev received the title of Honorary Doctor of the Caucasus University. The training centre has a stand demonstrating the life and activities of Heydar Aliyev and his books. A library dedicated to the history and literature of Azerbaijan, a reading-hall, and a computer centre will also function in the centre.
