IAEA’s Next Report on Iran’s Nuclear Plans not Justify Iran or West: Iranian Politician

Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend D.Khatinoglu / "The new report of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) regarding the nuclear plans of Iran will not justify Iran or the western countries accusing Iran of creating nuclear weapons," the Iranian politician, Ahmed Zeydabadi, said.

It is not excluded that in the next report of the IAEA regarding the nuclear plans of Iran, devised for the UN Security Council, the IAEA Chairman, Muhammad Albaradei, will mention Iran's co-operation with the organization over the recent two months.

Albaradei said in the recent resolution that Iran continues uranium enrichment and depreciatingly approaches the first and second resolutions of the UNO and several Iranian diplomats refused to meet with the IAEA delegation arriving in Iran for studies.

"Highlighting the positive results of the discussions with Iran, Albaradei highlighted several doubtful issues in the nuclear plans and Country's depreciating approach to the resolutions," Zeydabadi reported to Trend by telephone on 15 November. "The USA wants Albaradei, as Chairman of the IAEA, to fulfill his responsibilities and as diplomat, not to highlight the peaceful atomic activity of Iran. Senior officials of Israel condemn IAEA's positive attitude towards the nuclear plans of Iran and state that Albaradei screens doubtful nuclear activity of Iran and therefore, should resign," the expert said.

According to the Iranian politician, even if the new report of the IAEA regarding the nuclear plans of Iran contains positive challenges, it can not prevent implementation of the UN Security Council. Albaradei keeps himself from being a reason for repressions against Iran. His bilateral report will provide an opportunity to accept various points of view both as supporter and as opponent of Iran. In addition, the third resolution is not excluded to be adopted. Albaradei can only delay or accelerate this process.

Other Iranian politician, Prof. of Stockholm University for International Relations, Said Mahmudi, said by telephone from Sweden that over the recent two months Iran closely co-operated with the IAEA and provided documents replying to most of the questions and making clear the doubts. However, many problems still remain in existence. " Iran tried to vindicate itself in the final moment. If it would pursue this policy from the beginning of the year, it would be possible to say that it is possible to be justified somehow. However, it is not late yet. I hope that Albaradei's next report will support Iran. At least it will delay the adoption of the third resolution against Iran," Mahmudi said.
