Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr S. Ilhamgizi / Pro-opposition Azerbaijani Yeni Zaman party will apply to the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and international organizations next week due to lack of registration, the chairman of the party Musa Agayev said to Trend on 19 November.
The Yeni Zaman party was founded on 15 July 2007. On 10 August it submitted its documents to the Justice Ministry for registration. According to Agayev, the Justice Ministry did not yet define an exact time for registration of the party. The Yeni Zaman considers the delays to be a violation of the law, as appeals from political parties must be considered within 35 days.
"Next week we will apply to international organizations, the Azerbaijani President and the Presidential administration and will ask to take measures for registration of the Yeni Zaman party," Agayev said. According to Agayev, the party cannot apply to court, as the Justice Ministry did not give an official written reply.
