Azerbaijani Party Consider Membership in International Organization

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. I.Alizadeh / The Central Control-Inspection Commission (CCIC) of the Musavat party studies issues concerned with membership of the party in the European Liberal Democratic Reforms Party (ELDRP), Ibrahim Ibrahimli, CCIC's chairman, said.

The decision to join the ELDRP was made during the meeting on 23 December 2006.

Musavat became the member of ELDRP during the meeting held in Berlin on 18 October. The party's representative in the Parliament, MP Nasib Nasibli, and Yeni Musavat newspaper's chief editor, Rauf Arifoglu, decide the decision wrong. Nasibli said that he resigned as the forma of the party does not correspond with the demands of the organization.

CCIC consists of eleven members. The structure carries out control over the members of the party, as well as chamber, programs and regulations. The statement concerning membership in the ELDRP was submitted to the party three days ago. In compliance with the chamber of the party, commission must study the issues and make decision within a month.

Presently, the commission familiarizes with conditions. The final decision will be made by the mid of December," Nasibli said.

Musavat was founded in 1992. Five MPs are represented in the Parliament.
