Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr S. Agayeva / Azerbaijan supports any efforts intended to restore peace and stability in the Middle East, a spokesman for the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, Khazar Ibrahim, said to journalists on 26 November. He was commenting on the position of Azerbaijan regarding the US Administration's initiative to hold an international conference on the Middle East.
The conference will take place in Annapolis ( Maryland).
The conference will involve the Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, the UN Secretary General Pan Gi Mun, as well as delegations from over 40 countries, including delegations from G8 countries, the EU, the League of Arabic Countries, UN, IMF and WB.
Before the start of the conference the US President will hold separate bilateral meetings in the White House with Olmert and Abbas.
