Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry Accuses Foreign Embassies of Violating Legislation
Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend S.Agayeva / The Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan has warned several embassies of foreign countries in Azerbaijan, accusing them of breaking legislation.
"By violating Azerbaijan's legislation, several embassies evade tax payments on salaries to Azerbaijani citizens working here," the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Press Secretary, Khazar Ibrahim, briefed the media on 26 November. However, he refused to highlight the list of embassies, saying that it involves a significant amount of tax.
"Yet the Ministry gave only warnings. However, in the case of non-payment, serious measures will be taken with regards to these embassies," he said.
