Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend E.Huseynli / The health of the activist of Azerbaijan National Independence Party (ANIP), Musa Rahim, became worse. Rahim is accused of hooliganism and putting up resistance against the represeniative of the government. Rahim's lawyer Annagi Mammadli said that Rahim suffers cirrhosis.
Rahim is the activist of party's Imishli district department. He was arrested on 23 August and sentenced to five years in prison. Currently he is being kept in Bayl prison due to consideration of his appeal.
According to the lawyer, an appeal was made to the Justice Ministry to transfer Rahim to the medical center of the Penal System.
ANIP, founded in 1992, is the first officially registered party in Azerbaijan. Etibar Mammadov, the founder of the Party, was the Chairman until the end of 2004. For the time being Mammadov is the Deputy Chairman of the International Democratic Society.
