Azerbaijani Project Meet Recommendations of    Venice Commission – Commission Representative

A.Maharramli / The project, submitted by Azerbaijan, meets recommendations by the Venice Commission, stated the head of the Department of Constitutional Cooperation of the Venice Commission Simon Granat-Mengini on 12 December. Azerbaijan submitted a project on supplements and amendments in the bill on Freedom of Assemble from 1998 to the Venice Commission.

Azerbaijan took an obligation to develop final project of proposals concerning the bill during the latest fourth meeting held in Baku on 21 November 2007 with participation of representatives from Azerbaijan.

The document will be discussed at the 73rd plenary session of the Venice commission in Venice on 14 and 15 December," he said.

Recommendations of the Venice Commission on the issue were developed by members of the commission, Bogdan Auresk and Philon Phlanagan.

Fuad Alaskarov, head of the Department on Law Enforcement Bodies of the Azerbaijani Executive Administration, as well as Chingiz Askarov, representative of Azerbaijan in the European Court on Human Rights, will take part at the session.
