The Azerbaijani Ambassador to Kazakhstan Latif Gandilov:
The 2007 was an important year for foreign policy of Azerbaijan. One of the successes of Azerbaijan in 2007 was the country's attempt to inform the world community about realities of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. As a result of such policy most countries recognized Armenia as an aggressive country. Azerbaijan turned to an active participants of most international processes and was recognized the leader in the region. The projects Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan, Baku-Tbilisi-Erzrum and Kars-Tbilisi show the international authority of the country.
The Azerbaijani Ambassador to Turkey Zakir Gashimov:
The 2007 will remember for Azerbaijan for development of the Azerbaijani Diaspora organizations. The most important Baku-Tbilisi-Erzrum and Baku-Tbilisi-Kars projects were implemented this year.
The 2007 was also very important year for the Azerbaijani-Turkish relations. During the year the Presidents also state officials paid mutual visits, which developed the relations between the both countries most.
The Azerbaijani Ambassador to Switzerland Elchin Amirbayov:
The Azerbaijani-Swiss relations between the both countries highly developed in 2007. The Swiss Government opened its embassy in Azerbaijan. Usually the country which opens it embassy in Azerbaijan practically opens it in Armenia too. However, Switzerland understood that the relations with Azerbaijan are more important and profitable and therefore did not open its embassy in Armenia. The Presidents of the both countries, as well as Foreign Ministers met and a range of bilateral agreement between the both countries were signed.
The Azerbaijani Ambassador to Ukraine Talat Aliyev:
The key achievement of the Azerbaijani policy in 2007 was the country managed to inform the world community about the realities of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijani diplomacy reached an important success on the Nagorno-Karabakh issue. Most countries changed their attitudes towards the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh.
