Azerbaijan, Baku, 15 January / Тrend corr K. Zarbaliyeva / A warehouse which is part of a refrigerator manufacturing plant is currently on fire nearby the Ulduz metro station in front of the Shafa Stadium in Baku.
The fire had actually occurred several days ago, but was not discovered. It is presumed that as the warehouse is destroyed it will have to be demolished, Natig Zeynalov, the head of the Nuzami Office of the Fire Service at the Azerbaijani Emergency Situations Ministry, said to the Trend correspondent who was at the scene.
Employees of the Emergency Situations Ministry have been unable to enter the building. In addition the chemical substances used in the manufacturing of refrigerators have been smoldering over the 100 sq m area and therefore poses a threat to the environment.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
