Azerbaijan, Baku, 16 January / corr Trend S.Agayeva / The preparations for the upcoming visit of the Egyptian President -Hosni Mubarek to Azerbaijan, are underway. "The visit can be paid in the first half-year of 2008", Faig Bagirov, the Azerbaijani Ambassador to Egypt, said in a telephone interview from Cairo on 16 January. The date and program of the visit are being coordinated.
During the visit, Mubarek will continue the dialogue, launched during Ilham Aliyev - the Azerbaijani President's last visit to Egypt in May 2007- when the actual issues of bilateral and international nature were discussed, the ambassador said. "These two countries have good cooperation in the political sector, and the heads of state play positive role in this. Now it is necessary to expand the economic cooperation as well," the diplomat said.
According to Mubarek, at present, the Governments of the two countries are developing new draft agreements for expanding the legal agreement basis between Azerbaijan and Egypt. The documents cover many spheres such as economy, protection of mutual investments, customs, as well as expansion of relations in the consular affairs. The documents will be signed during the Egyptian President's visit to Azerbaijan.
