Azerbaijani Central Election Commission’s Chairman Blame Citizens in Cause of Problems in Election Lists
Azerbaijan, Baku, 17 January / Trend corr. S.Ilhamgizi / Mazahir Panahov, the chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Azerbaijan, considers that some citizens do not want their names to be included into the election lists deliberately causing problems, Panahov stated during CEC meeting.
According to Panahov, the election lists of Azerbaijan meet international standards. "There were so few voters during the latest election, who caused problems. I concerned that the number of such cases may be increased," Panahov said. The chairman added that presently, CEC officials are specifying the number of voters, and the process must be completed by 5 February. The lists must be submitted to election stations. Later, the election stations will submit the lists to CEC. CEC must complete the process by 5 April.
