Georgia, Tbilisi, 21 January / Trend corr. N.Kirtskhalia / Michael Saakashvili, the Georgian President, issued a decree to appoint Lado Gurgenidze, 37, as the new Prime Minister of Georgia, Saakashvili stated during the inauguration ceremony in the Bagrat Church on 21 January.
"I have requested for Gurgenidze to submit a new Cabinet of Ministers in the near future," the President stated. Approximately 18 Ministers will lose their posts.
The post of Prime Minister was previously held by Zurab Nogaideli.
