Azerbaijan, Baku, 29 January / corr. Trend S. Ilhamgizi / If Azerbaijani opposition wants to win the presidential elections of 2008, the leaders of the opposition should make concessions to each other. Zelimkhan Mammadli, the chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the oppositional Classic Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (CPFPA) said to Trend.

The regular presidential elections will be held in Azerbaijan on October 2008. CPFPA has decided to take part in the elections. The oppositional parties Musavat, Umid, Great Establishment have also announced their intentions to take part in the elections with their own candidates.

According to Mammadli, all the opposition leaders including the CPFPA chairman should unite and to take part in the elections with the unified platform and team.

"Opposition leaders have forgotten about their responsibilities. They should understand that they could not organize the resistance of the society and chose the wrong political methods. Therefore they should make concessions to each other in the elections and to nominate fewer candidates for the elections," Mammadli said.

According to Mammadli, if democratic harmony is settled and the equal conditions are provided to all the candidates there will be no need for opposition to nominate only one candidate.

The Advisory Body which unites five opposition parties considers that it is impossible to take part in the elections with a unified candidate. "It is not bad for the opposition to take part in the elections with several candidates. On the contrary, more candidates we nominate more chances we will have. Therefore we aim at holding the second round of the presidential elections," Chingiz Demiroglu, the chairman of the Tereggi opposition party said Trend.
