Azerbaijan, Baku, 30 January / Trend corr. I.Alizadeh / Shortening of pre-election campaign period is impossible in Azerbaijan. "There is need four months for consideration of elections problems in Azerbaijan," Safa Mirzoyev, the head of Parliamentary Apparatus, stated during the press-conference on 30 January.
Under the current Election Code, the term of pre-election campaign is four months. The ruling New Azerbaijan Party proposed to short the pre-election campaign term to two months and submitted its proposal to international organizations.
Mirzoyev noted that two months term may be applied to pre-election campaign only in emergency situations.
Mirzoyev said that the term of pre-election campaign was developed on the basis of science theory.
