Azerbaijan, Baku, 31 January /corr. Trend I.Alizade / The Parliament of Azerbaijan devised a new law draft envisaging raising the quality of the agricultural products in the country.
"Poisoning and various diseases result from using ecologically unclear foodstuffs. The main dangerous issue is that people do not understand that consuming ecologically unclear products is harmful for organism," said the Chairman of Azerbaijan Parliament's Permanent Commission for Agrarian Policy, Eldar Ibrahimov, during the discussions over the draft law on ecological agriculture.
According to him, the law draft aims ensuring ecologically clean and qualitative products in Azerbaijan. The draft law reflects creating mechanism of producing qualitative agricultural products and preventing production of low-quality products, Ibrahimov said. According to him, the draft law is important for Azerbaijan's entrance to the World Trade Organization (WTO).
The Commission made a decision to present the draft law to the discussions in the Parliament.
The spring session of the Parliament will commence on 1 February.
