Azerbaijan, Baku 4 March / corr Trend S.Agayeva / Relations between the European Union (EU) and Azerbaijan and the integration of Azerbaijan into Europe under the EU New Neighborhood Policy were discussed at a meeting by the Azerbaijani delegation at the Foreign Ministry of Germany in Berlin.
The meeting which included representatives from the Azerbaijani President's Executive Power, ministries and administrations with Yohannes Regenbrecht, the head of the Department for South Caucasus and Central Asia of the German Foreign Ministry, focused on the position of lingering conflicts in the territory of South Caucasus, ways to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the occupation of the Azerbaijani territory by Armenia.
The two sides noted high dynamics of development of the Azerbaijani-German relations in the political, economic and cultural fields. The organization of the Azerbaijani Year in Germany in 2008 and the German Year in Azerbaijan in 2009 was recognized as an important stage in the relations between the countries.
The delegation's visit was at the invitation of the Ministry of Economy and Technology of Germany.
