Azerbaijani Parliament Raised Salaries of Counting Chamber Employees

Azerbaijan, Baku, 1 April / Trend corr. I.Alizadeh / The Azerbaijani Parliament has raised the salaries of employees of Counting Chamber. As per the changes, chairman of the Chamber will receive the salary and provision like the salary of first Vice Speaker, as well as the deputy chairman of Chamber will receive the salary like Vice Speaker, auditors of Chamber will receive the salary equal to the salaries of chairmen of Parliamentary standing commissions and Chamber workers will receive the salary equal to the salaries of workers of Parliament Administration.

"The salary of Counting Chamber employees is low. We need to increase their salaries to achieve efficiency in their respective activities," Ziyad Samadzade, chairman of the parliamentary standing commission on economic policy, stated during the meeting of the Parliament on 1 April.

The changes in the Bill on Counting Chamber were discussed during the meeting. Samadzade said that the salary of employees of Counting Chamber in most of the countries correspond to salary of the employees of Parliament Administration, President Administration and Cabinet of Ministers.

Parliament has also approved of the supplement on ratification of about 80 forms of tables developed by the Counting Chamber to control expenditures allocated by the State Budget. Samadzade stated said that the Chamber submits these tables to state departments. However, in most of the cases these documents are sent back to Counting Chamber untimely. Under the supplements, proposed in the Bill, the state departments should return tables back to the Chamber within a month. Samadzade informed about the rated operations on bank accounts, and treasury of the organizations and managements who did not implemented these commitments.

Another change envisages creation of Counting Chamber in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (NAR) of Azerbaijan.

Parliament has approved of the amendments and supplements in the Bill.
