Finance Minister of Iran Resigns

Azerbaijan, Baku, 4 April / corr. Trend D. Khatinoglu/ The Minister of Finance of Iran, Davud Danish Safari, has resigned on 4 April due to disagreements with the President Ahmadinejad, reported Farsnews, the official news agency of Iran.

In May 2007 the management of the state insurance company was dismissed by the Iranian president. The former minister of finance announced that this decision was wrong and protested against it demanding his resignation. However, this was not accepted.

The Iranian president has already selected the person who will succeed the minister of finance, but as yet there is no official information has been given.

Seven high ranking officials of Iran have been dismissed in the last two years.
