Azerbaijan, Baku, 4 April /corr. Trend K.Ramazanova/ Adopting a Law on Freedom of Assembly and making changes to the Electoral Code in Azerbaijan is very important for the AGO Group, the Chairman of the Council of Europe's Committee of Ministers, Per Sergen, briefed the media on 4 April in Baku.
According to him, strong legislation base is very much necessary, but it is important to fulfill it. The candidates should be provided with equal opportunities to hold pre-election campaign because it is one of the utmost conditions for democratic elections.
In addition, Sergen said that the Committee of Ministers will hold trainings on holding free and fair elections.
