Four Men Arrested in South Azerbaijan for Committing Military Crimes
Azerbaijan, Lankaran, 8 April / corr. Trend P. Aliyeva/ In January and March there was an increase in the crime rate in the Lankaran district of Azerbaijan, said to Trend Ilham Ahmadov, the Head of Criminal Investigation Department of Police Office of Lankaran district of Azerbaijan.
According to Ahmadov, 89 crimes have been registered in January and March, 3 more than in 2007. During this period, 83(93%) crimes have been solved in the Lankaran district located 270km south of Baku. Two of the unsolved crimes are drug-related and the others robbery-related.
Some 19 crimes committed in 2008 were drug-related, 2 more than 2007. In the first quarter of the year, 9 of the 36 people being sought were arrested. Four of the 15 people wanted for military crimes have been arrested, said Ahmadov.
