Kirtskhalia/ Nino Burjanadze, the chairman of Georgian parliament, who is also first in the election rolls of ruling Unified National Movement (UNM), has confirmed that talks are being held with the parties representing the national minorities of Georgia including Azerbaijani Qeyret (Dignity) party.
"The activists of our party are holding talks with them and I do not have any information regarding any details of these talks, I just can say that talks are being held at present," Burjanadze said to Trend .
She said that the ruling party has always supported the national minorities of Georgia: "We have always made efforts so that the national minorities could also be represented in the Georgian parliament". "If the members of Geyrat party wish to work with us and to be included in unified lists of UNM, there is no problem. The nationality of our citizens does not matter to us, we think that the representatives of all national minorities must be represented in Georgian parliament," she said.
