Azerbaijan Governing Party’s Delegation to Hold Political Discussions in Northern Cyprus

Azerbaijan, Baku, 9 April / Trend corr G. Jabiyev/ The delegation of governing New Azerbaijan Party (NAP) will be visiting the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus from 14 to 18 April, the Chairman of NAP youth organization Ramil Hasanov said to Trend on 9 April. He said that the visit will be paid at the invitation of Northern Cyprus's Foreign Ministry.

The representatives of four political parties of Northern Cyprus visited Azerbaijan in March.

During the return visit, the political parties of Azerbaijan and Northern Cyprus will discuss the cooperation prospects.

According to Hasanov, the representatives of Northern Cyprus exchanged their experience during their visit to Azerbaijan. The delegation got interested, most of all, in the youth policy of Azerbaijan, the attention paid by State and NAP to the youth, nomination of young parliamentarians. "In Northern Cyprus, the youngest MP is 44 and the youngest politician is 40. They asked the Azerbaijani delegation to participate in several workshops and to share its youth policy experience during its visit to Northern Cyprus," Hasanov said.

The NAP was founded in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan (NAR) in 1992 by Heydar Aliyev, who was at that time the chair of Nakhchivan Parliament. Present chair of the party, which has been governing for past 15 years, is the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
