Group Issuing Fake Documents Detained in Nakhchivan in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan, Nakhchivan, 16 April / corr. Trend E. Mammadov/ Three men issuing fictitious documents have been detained in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (NAR), said on 16 April to media Hikmat Aliyev, the lieutenant- colonel and the Head of the Investigation Department of Interior Ministry of NAR.

According to Aliyev, as a result of the investigation conducted by Interior Ministry and Ministry of National Security of NAR, a group dealing with illegal entrepreneurship, fraud and falsification of the official documents has been detained.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Aliyev Nariman Allahverdi oglu, the resident of Nakhchivan city opened illegally a medical college Tabib in 1991 without any state registration, which contradicts Azerbaijani legislation. The college has been operating illegally since 2003. During this period, some 750 people have been enrolled into the college without notifying State Students Admission Committee and fictitious diplomas were issued to the students on various medical specialties, Aliyev said.

Jafarov Zohram Fuad oglu, the resident of Nakhchivan city, illegally opened medical college Genj Tabib (Young Doctor) in 1990 and Nakhchivan branch of Applied Sciences College. Both medical colleges issued diplomas to more than 1,000 graduates until 2002.

Ismayilov Ziyaddin Yusif oglu, the resident of Nakhchivan city and the chairman of Education and Erudition Society, illegally opened a commercial center which held annual courses twice a week and issued nurse diplomas to the students.

Aliyev also said the citizens used to get the fictitious diplomas of medical colleges #1 and #2 in Baku and CIS medical colleges in the past, he said.

At present, some 442 'specialists' are working at various health departments with fake diplomas.

According to Aliyev, conditions have been provided for those with fake documents to hand over these documents. Measures are being carried out in this regard.
