Azerbaijan, Baku, 23 April / Trend corr. E.Huseynli / The National Security Ministry of Azerbaijan has seized drugs in large quantity, which have been imported to the country from Iran. The Ministry reported Trend that 33kg of drugs have been seized.
Eldaniz Hamidov- Russian citizen, Mehman Azizov, Mirzali Hasanov and Gamlet Ibayev- the residents of Azerbaijani Yardimli region, Elvin Nuriyev and Tair Salmanov -residents of Masalli region, as well as members of organizational gang - Iranian citizens were detained on 15 April while attempting to pass 33kg of drugs to Azerbaijan from Iran.
Iranian citizens brought drug to Aruz village of Yardimli region on 14 April and gave drug to Azizov, Hasanov and Ibayev.
A criminal case has been filed over the fact on the contravening Article 206.4 (contraband), (illegal production, acquisition, keep and transport of drug in large numbers) and 234.4.1 and 234.4.3 of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan. Members of the gang were detained by the decision of Court.
